Astro Landscapes

I got out during the previous new moon to get a few astro landscapes. I recently got a star tracker. The star tracker is a device that rotates with the stars at night enabling me to take longer exposures at lower ISO’s. This reduces noice in the finished photo and lets the sensor collect more light. Enjoy the photos and thank you for looking.

Water Mill Milky Way

Milky Way over Water Mill field

Water Mill Milky Way rising across the sky. The night sky is filled with ambient light making it hard to see the Milky Way. The Milky Way is the cloud of stars moving left to right. Plus the local neighbors coming and going in their cars. The lights in the foreground are lightening bugs and the colored lights crossing the sky are airplanes and maybe a satellite or two.

Some Sea Ducks a Willet and an Egret

I don’t consider myself a wildlife photographer but I do take some bird photos when they come to me. I’m an opportunist when it comes to wildlife. These ducks, Willet and Egret were too cooperative to ignore.
