The Milky Way over Wainscott

This past week I got a chance to get out at night and take this photo of the Milky Way over a Farm in Wainscott, Long Island. There is a lot of light pollution in this area, but I tried to use it to make a more interesting photo than just the Milky Way against a black sky.

Montauk Rocks

This past winter I spent a day hiking among the rocks on the Montauk Point shore. These rocks were deposited by the leading edge of advancing glaciers during the Ice Age. I photographed the rocks that seemed to have character of the their own.

Comet Neowise over Shinnecock Bay

Comet Neowise over Shinnecock Bay. I went out to see the new comet and at first couldn’t find the comet. Then out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a flash of light. I trapped a pair of binoculars and found the comet. it was very faint in the sky but I felt that I could get a photo with a long exposure. There was a lot of local light pollution to contend with but after several exposures the above image was created
